Togetherness Works!

By Hazel Holland

Mimi and Sasha are snuggling close to one another on the sofa this evening... something that they rarely ever did in California.  Perhaps that's because they're also adjusting to living in a colder house in the winter time.  Apparently their territorial issues have been laid aside for the moment.  The warmth that they both gain from coming together far outweighs the urge to be alone on their separate blankets.

You think that perhaps we human beings could learn some valuable spiritual lessons from our pets?

My Feathered Friends

By Hazel Holland

Here are some shots of the way it looked outside the next morning after the first snowfall of winter.  Some rather large birds discovered the bread crumbs in my bird feeder.  Tomorrow we'll see if they like sunflower seeds, too.

First Snow of Winter

By Hazel Holland

"Did you look outside yet, Mom?" my son called to ask this evening.  Here's what I saw when I opened the door... the first snow of winter!  Better go and park my car inside the garage so I don't have to clean it off in the morning... :)

I'm glad I brought this wrought iron bird feeder from California because I get to see the birds feeding from my kitchen window.  I've noticed that besides sparrows there are some rather large black birds with white on their wings...  Gotta find out what they're called.
